LexiPlant FAQ
What is LexiPlant?
LexiPlant is a platform that helps gardeners, permaculturists, and plant enthusiasts identify, select, and grow edible, medicinal, or ornamental plants adapted to their soil, climate, and location.
Who is LexiPlant for?
LexiPlant is designed for both beginners and experienced gardeners. Whether you have a vegetable garden, balcony plants, or a mountain plot, the platform adapts to your needs.
How does plant search work?
Simply enter your location (automatically or manually), then specify your preferences (usage, soil type, cold resistance, etc.). LexiPlant will then suggest suitable plants.
Do you offer detailed sheets for each plant?
Yes, each species has an interactive plant sheet containing its needs, uses (food, medicinal, ornamental), perennial planting tips, maintenance, and hardiness information.
Is LexiPlant free?
Basic access is free: simplified search, common sheets, and location-based selection.
Is LexiPlant evolving?
Yes, we plan to regularly enrich LexiPlant with new features, content, and formats (examples: practical sheets, advanced filters, experience feedback...). Have an idea or specific expectation? Contact us! We're listening and will share upcoming developments via our newsletter.
What are LexiPlant's ecological goals?
LexiPlant aims to promote ecological and accessible gardening by helping everyone design a garden adapted to their environment: alpine, forest, urban... or even in the form of a forest garden. The goal is to promote local biodiversity, strengthen ecosystems, and support the transition to a more sustainable lifestyle.
What are the sources of the data?
LexiPlant relies on a database of over 8,000 plants, including PFAF (Plants For A Future), open data, and partnerships with botanical experts.
How are guilds and improvement recommendations generated?
Plant guilds and improvement recommendations are generated by an open-source AI of the Gemma type, specially trained to follow precise instructions. This AI is lightweight and efficient, and most importantly, it does not collect any personal data. It only analyzes the information you share about your environment to provide you with adapted recommendations.
